VALUE: TINTS AND SHADES
The VALUE in art theory is the lightness or darkness of a hue (a colour).
Lighter values can be added to a hue by mixing white with it.
This is called a TINT.
Darker values can be created by mixing black with the original hue.
This is called a SHADE.
